It is very well known to us all that Nutrition plays a very important role in our life – from the time a child is born in the womb and it continues even after birth. Lot of importance should be given to nutrition as it important for our health. As per the requirement of our curriculum 1st year BSC Nursing students decided to celebrate Nutrition Day under the guidance of Mrs.Rajini.Poojari Assistant Professor Community health Nursing. The idea was proposed by Dr N.M.Jose Dean Institute of nursing sciences. Total 98 students from 1st year BSc was divided into 10 groups and had to prepare dishes according to different types of diets and assigned the responsibility to the students. Then students planned about the required grocery and vegetables and discussed. All the utensils used during the food preparation were provided by the college itself. The Nutrition Day was celebrated for the very first time in Srinivas Institute of Nursing College and was organised in very good manner. Students participated and helped in organizing and arrangement for the celebration. The Nutrition Day was held on 29th November, 2022 at the Nutrition Lab from 9.30 am onwards and concluded by 4.30pm. The nutrition lab was decorated with beautifully prepared charts on various topic related to nutrition. There were charts on the different types of diets, importance of nutrition, health benefits of balanced diet. The preparation phase for the program was harmonious and interesting with all the involved members showing active participation and coordination. The program went as per the plan. The participants had enjoyed a lot while preparing the dishes. Some students found difficulty during performing their tasks as it was their first time to prepare any dish. The program overall was an entertainment package for all and was a success with the students feeling satisfied. In this way whole programme was organised nicely and ended happily
