Mukka 8th March, 2021: With the blessings of A Shama Rao, Founder of Srinivas University and under the guidance of Dr. CA A. Raghavendra Rao, Chancellor of Srinivas University, Mangalore, Institute of Allied Health Sciences celebrated “International Women’s Day - 2022”. Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Srinivas University had organized International Women’s Day celebration on 08-03-2021 at 03:00 PM in Srinivas Campus, Mukka. The Chief Guest for the day was Dr. Vrinda J Bhat (Professor & Head, Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology) and the Guests of Honor for the Day were Prof. Dr. J Satya Sai Kumar (Pro Vice Chancellor), Dr. Anil Kumar (Registrar, Srinivas University), Mr. Devaseelan S (Dean, College of Allied Health Sciences). Mrs. Lavanya P S (Assistant Professor, Department of Forensic Sciences) gave an introductory speech and welcomed the chief guest and dignitaries for the program. She also spoke about the significance of women’s day. Dr. Vrinda J Bhat, the chief guest, in her address appreciated the efforts of the women of the society and highlighted the meaning of the theme of this year “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”, wherein she encouraged the male staff and students to help women at home. Right after the meaningful address by the chief guest, a cake was cut by all the female staff and students which made the moment colorful. After the cake cutting, few games were conducted which had active participation both from the staff and students. Some cultural activities included singing of songs related to women delivered by Assistant Professors, Niketh P S (Forensic Science), Lavanya P S (Forensic Science) and Nourin S (Medical Imaging Technology) which made the occasion a pleasant one. The program ended with prize distribution for the winners of the games that were conducted. Vote of thanks was rendered by Ms. Brilly Anto (Assistant Professor, Department of Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology) Organizer of the program was Ms. Maureen Edwards (Assistant Professor/ Co-ordinator of Fine Arts). The Teaching staff, non-teaching staff and Students were a part of this celebration. With the hope that we may continue to empower women at home as well as in the workplace, let’s continue to celebrate women every day.
