Thiruonam 2K19

Mangaluru 6th September, 2019: Srinivas University College of Hotel Management & Tourism  celebrated THIRUVONAM 2K19  Observed by Malayalis all over the world as a religious and cultural festival, Onam commemorates the annual homecoming of the legendary King Mahabali — the grandson of Prahlada — as per Hindu scriptures. The function was inaugurated by the chief guest  Dr. P.S.Aithal, Vice-Chancellor, Srinivas University. Dr. Annayya , Chief Medical Officer - Srinivas Group and Prof. S.Swaminathan  - Dean in charge of College of Hotel Management & Tourism were also present. The winners of POOKKALAM 2K19 were awarded with the prizes during the function.The main attraction of the function was the Shingarimelam, performed by a professional group. It was followed by Thiruvathirakali - a traditional dance form of Kerala, performed by the girl students of College of Hotel Management & Tourism. A fourteen course tradtional Onam Sadya(Kerala style lunch) was prepared and served by the students. The event was filled with various cultural programmes and Games.
