27th July, 2018: Srinivas University conducted an Anti-Drug awareness program to all the Student of UG level at Pandeshwar campus. Mr RAMA RAO [Assistant commissioner of Police, South subdivision] Mr Sainatha Rana, [Police Inspector, Pandeshwar] Mr Umesh Kotian M.N [Sub Inspector of Police, Pandeshwar], Mr Vijaya Kotian [Senior Editor, Vijaya Karnataka Newspaper], Mr. Steven Rego [Senior reporter, Vijaya Karnataka] were the resource persons for the program.
Mr. RAMA RAO [A.C.P], gave a talk on Anti-Drug Awareness.
He explained the effects and consequences of ragging and also detailed about
how students get trapped and end up consuming drugs and its aftereffects. Special
emphasis was also given to the legal consequences of ragging and misconduct by
explaining specific provisions of law.
Mr
Vijay Kotian, [Senior Editor of Vijaya Karnataka newspaper], spoke about drugs mafia
in Mangalore being next to Bangalore in consumption of drugs. He advised
students to work towards fulfilling dreams of former president Sri A.P.J.Abdul Kalam
out India 2020.
Dr P.S Aithal, [Vice Chancellor of Srinivas University], explained
and stressed about the drugs and its effects among student’s community.
This
was followed by a question answer session handled by Mr Sainatha Rana, [Police
Inspector Pandeshwar].
Mrs
Pavithra Kumari, Coordinator of Aviation programme has organised and
coordinated the programme.
Mr
Sridhara Acharya, BCA Co-ordinator, Mrs Sharmila S Shetty B.Com Co-ordinator,
Mr Nelson Pereira BBA Co-ordinator, faculties and other media persons were
present. All other UG course students were present in the programme.
