Mangaluru, September 29,2022 : On occasion of World Heart Day, Srinivas Hospital Mukka organised a walkathon of 5 km from Surathkal junction to Srinivas Hospital, Mukka. The walkathon began with warm-up aerobic session from Srinivas College of Physiotherapy. The programme was inaugurated by the pro-chancellor, Srinivas University, Dr A Srinivas Rao. The programme was addressed by Dr Subramanyam, the chief interventional cardiologist, professor and head, department Of Cardiology, who addressed the gathering and stressed upon importance of healthy living with lifestyle modification. He also emphasised that regular health check and follow up will keep the heart healthy. Dr Subramanyam, also informed on various techniques to extend the healthy heart for a wealthy living. He also verbalised on the importance of stress free life, as stress is one of the important contributing factor for an increase in cardiovascular diseases. "Embracing exercise and healthy diet will add years to life and also improve the quality of living. Dr Subramanayam also drew the attention for the need of regular cardiac evaluation after age of 40 years. This will help in early detection and prompt intervention, thereby preventing future major cardiac related complications," he said. The theme for the year is 'Use heart for every heart'. Srinivas Hospital in association with the staff, students, general public and various associations conducted the walkathon. More than 1,000 people participated in the event. Fascial Manipulation Certificate Course by Stecco-Level 1
Mangaluru, 13th September, 2022: Institute of Physiotherapy, Srinivas University had organized a 6 day hands on certificate course on “Fascial Manipulation by Stecco- Level 1” from 13th September 2022 to 18th September 2022 at Srinivas Saffron Hotel, Mangaluru. Kobi Weiss, an eminent therapist from Israel was the Instructor for the course. An overview of the myofascial (Musculoskeletal System) with its mechanics and how it affects movement was given followed by hands on sessions related to its Assessment. A total of 20 Participants had enrolled for the course from different regions of India.

Fair (2022-23) on 22nd September 2022 at City Campus Auditorium, Pandeshwar,
Mangaluru for its undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Students and parents
from different parts of the country had gathered for the event. Invited

University, Mangaluru graced the event with their presence. The program
commenced with the "Saraswathi Vandana", and was followed by the lamp
lighting by the Guest of Honour and Fresher students. Welcome address was given
by Dr S. Rajasekar, Dean Institute of Physiotherapy Srinivas University and the
dignitaries were florally welcomed by faculties. Presidential address was
delivered by Dr CA. A. Raghavendra Rao, Chancellor, Srinivas University &
President of A. Shama Rao Foundation, Mangaluru, who was sharing his experience
on Physiotherapy and emphasized the importance of Physiotherapy and its
upcoming role in society. Dr A. Srinivas Rao, Pro-Chancellor, Srinivas
University & Vice President of A. Shama Rao Foundation, Mangaluru welcomed
the fresher students and delivered his words of wisdom on importance of
physiotherapy. Dr A. Mitra S. Rao, Secretary, A. Shama Rao Foundation,
Mangaluru had a friendly interaction with students and emphasized on the
importance of learning languages and maintaining patience in serving humanity
and assured the students that they had made the right choice of choosing
physiotherapy as their profession. Course briefing was done by Dr Thrishala
Noronha (Associate Professor, Institute of Physiotherapy Mangaluru) who gave a
detailed idea on the outline of the courses and curriculum. She also added on
the rules and regulations to be followed by the students. Vote of thanks was
delivered by Dr Premkumar M, Associate Professor of College of Physiotherapy.
The formal event concluded with the National Anthem.
